    They work! Super cheap!
Drives work. I took the plunge and got 2 recertified 12 Tb drives. Both drives work. Some of my cords in my pc aren’t working to get all 4 of my drives going at the same time, but I have confirmed with the working cords that these drives definitely work and are good and aren’t related to any issues my computer is having. Can’t wait to get my PC put back together and get these loaded. Will update if I have any issues!

    So far so good
So far no issues with “re-manned” drives. Built 2 NAS and so far so good.

    Excellent for NAS RAID setups.
This is a high-capacity drive, and along with the other drives in my NAS, I have enough storage to last me for another decade or so. I now have four of these, and I’ll be getting one more just to make sure I can recover if one fails, although so far they’re all doing well.

Great value, especially compared to new, but…
I purchased a pair of these manufacturer-recertified NAS hard drives for a Plex server after Linus blew up the server parts website and made it impossible for anyone to get a good deal over there. Thankfully, these appear to be just as good as their brand-new counterparts, even if the ones I received were manufactured in 2019. Both appear to be in perfect health.Just be warned, however, that the actual usable storage capacity is only 10.9 terabytes after formatting!

The very best drives I’ve had
Almost 2 and a half years into nearly 24/7 operation in a HPE Proliant I use as a NAS/homelab. These have been the greatest deal I’ve ever come across for fast, high capacity hard drives. They came with low power on time, they’re not loud, and they don’t get hot. Basically everything I could have hoped for and more.

One of four drives failed in 10 months
One of the four drives I purchased began to fail after 10 months. The QNAP NAS I was running it in reported an increasing rate of SMART errors. I replaced the drive in the arran and took the offending drive out for further testing in a PC. After reformatting and mounting the drive in Windows 11, it passed a quick test in SeaTools but repeatedly failed a long self test.I confirmed with Seagate that the drive is no longer under warranty, so it’s basically e-waste at this point. For my non-critical home use (in a backed-up RAID) the low price was worth the risk of a failure. If you have a more critical application, I suggest paying more for the new drives with 5-year warranties.

    Worth the cost, 100%
Well packaged from vibration and static. Not able to tell at all that they are refurbished/renewed. less the cost.Work 100% in a NAS box with RAID 1 (Mirroring)They are a bit louder than the drives I had. Not an annoyingly level of increase. Just more noticeable.Within around 3 feet of the NAS box, you can hear them clicking and tapping away when in use. it’s very pleasant for someone my age that grew up with mechanical drives, with their distant clicks echoing in whatever case you have them in.

Got this and a Barracuda 12tb on my PC. I have put both as only turn on when in use to reduce the noise which not that loud but you will hear the arm moving. Done test and no error found good speed and seems brand new. Storing old games and files that i wont use that much
