Even if you choose not to use the software this is great
Replacing my aging Synology, I wanted something with more powerful and modern hardware options and flexibility. Synology provides solid, reliable systems, but honestly, they are too far behind on their hardware. So I researched and went with the DXP6800 Pro.It has plenty of power with the CPU for my home lab needs, memory expandability, plenty of storage bays, and it runs quiet even at full load. I found the included software easy to use, but limited in certain areas, as it is just not mature yet. However, they are doing a good job of getting there. However, one of the major strengths is that you can easily install TrueNas or Unraid, and it does not void your warrant like some other options.Despite the lack of features on the software, I decided to stay with their included OS. Their Docker and VM solution works well and due to the CPU and expandable memory, they run fast. So for any missing OS option, I run a docker that handles the task. While not the cheapest, I found that for a system that has these features and performance, compared to Qnap, Synology, and Asustor to be a solid price. You can do better if you DIY, but if you are like me and do not have that kind of free time, this is a great option.

Great NAS for the value. Regular updates and great support by the company.
I’m so glad I went with this instead of the Synology NAS. Although they’re new to the NAS industry, the base product is well worth the money. The NAS OS and apps still need a lot of work, but they’ve been releasing monthly updates to fix issues, improve performance, and add functionality. I was able to add an additional SSD slot using a PCIe card and build a storage volume with other SSD drives. While you can easily install other NAS operating systems, their OS is sufficient for most basic users. I have this unit for several months, no issue what so ever.

Excellent Performance and Build Quality for a Professional NAS
This professional-grade NAS stands out for its robust construction and high-speed performance, easily surpassing its direct competitors.Pros:Superior Hardware and Build Quality: The unit exhibits excellent build quality with hardware specifications that are superior to competing models from brands like Synology.Integrated Power Supply: A notable convenience is the integrated power supply in the 6-bay model, which eliminates the need for an external power brick common with other units.Efficient Operating System: While the operating system is streamlined, it provides all the essential functionality required for most home and professional use cases.Full 10GbE Throughput: The 10GbE LAN port performs as advertised. In my testing with a six-disk array (Seagate Barracuda drives) connected to a 10GbE switch, I was able to achieve full line-rate speeds.Cons:Chassis Vibration: The primary drawback is the significant audible vibration generated by the 6-bay chassis, which is noticeably louder than the 2-bay and 4-bay versions I also own. However, this issue was fully resolved by applying foam stripping to the interior of the drive sleds to dampen the vibrations. Conclusion:Aside from the manageable vibration issue, the unit has performed flawlessly. It is a highly capable and reliable network storage solution that I would strongly recommend!

    Solid hardware.
A solid choice with excellent hardware. But I do suggest running Truenas or Unraid instead of UGREEN OS.

    Best option for NAS
This is a great option. Very fast and easy setup. However there is a learning curve to use and customize. Technical help is good

    Absolutely amazing
This is my second NAS from UGreen. I got the 2800 thru kickstarter but it was too small for my needs to I decided to upgrade. This thing is great. Way more power behind it for all my docker containers and VMs. Being able to have 6 drives now is great and lets me add more drives as I need them. Stays cool, looks great, and seems pretty solid. Plus the NAS app and client software works great. I installed Tailscale for faster remote access. So glad I didn’t try Synology. I’m not locked into some crazy priced drives on this. Huge win!

This thing is to damn easy.
This NAS had to be the easiest NAS that I have ever setup. All I did was install the 4 10TB WD Red drives into bays 1-4. Then I installed 2 1TB ED black NVME drives in the bottom. Connected the power and ethernet to my network. followed the find my nas link on the UGreen site. It found my NAS was super quick. Then the system helped me create my admin account. Once logged in it walked me through creating my storage pool. The system also explained what the different RAID options was. I went with RAID 5. System did take 13 hours to create the Raid 5 due to the size of my drives. I loved it so much that I helped a friend order one as well. Last NAS I have setup was 14 years ago so much has changed and Ugreen makes a fantastic product.

LOVE my new NAS!!! (For home use)
Haven’t had the unit but about a week now and loving it! Upgraded the RAM to 96 GB (YES, 96 GB and its running just fine). I also put in 2x 2TB NVMe SSD disks and replaced the OS NVMe disk with a new one and installed TrueNAS Scale. While still learning TrueNAS, the only thing I had to do was disabled “Watchdog” in the BIOS and TrueNAS came up just fine. The reason I replaced the original OS drive was so that if I ever needed to go back to UGOS I would just swap the drives back out and be right back to I started. As of right now (10-18-2025) There is no way to reinstall the original OS if you wipe the original disk. The original disk is 128GB in size but TrureNAS only uses abut 16-20GB (but I would leave more room then that if I were you).

This is NOT a real external drive experience. Total nightmare from the start. Took 3 days just to format the drives, and another 3 days struggling with the RAID setup. The software is painfully slow, glitchy, and completely useless. Zero customer support – no phone number, no live chat, no proper help at all. If you’re not super tech-savvy, forget it. UGREEN completely failed with this product. Returning it was the best part of the whole process. Don’t waste your money or time.thunderbolt totaly use less not show in mac
