Tech Reviews –
Best sound system I have ever owned. WOW!
The SX Speakers are my favorite speakers that I have ever owned. I ordered the 5.1 surround sound system from VSSL that has 2 speakers, a soundbar, and a subwoofer. Wow, this setup is amazing, the audio experience has completely upgraded movie nights at my home. I also love using this system to play music, I use Spotify and it’s so easy to use, you just select your VSSL system and it immediately connects and plays your music or podcast through your VSSL system. The build quality is second to none, when you open the box you will immediately understand and see that it’s more than worth the price. Setup was fairly smooth, I did end up needing to do a reset on one of the speakers but after that it was seamless.

Great sound, Not so great app
There are plenty to like about this speaker. The sound performance is great but can easily be overwhelmed by bass heavy music. For the bass heavy songs, i had to lower the bass level as it seems to rattle even with the volume even at 40-50%. Otherwise, it has a nice balance and sounds full even for a small sized speaker by itself. It is able to fill our medium sized room with sound. Then, there is the looks. It looks sleek with a manual volume dial on top. There are only two buttons, the volume dial that can be twisted and pushed for play/stop and then there is the wifi pairing button on the back. Very simple to operate. Streaming musing using spotify is seamless. It plays the music once i transfer from my phone compared to my other speakers that i will have to wait for a beep or confirmation that its connected. Very smooth transfer. Build quality is solid and material feels great. It really does feel premium. There is one function that really drags the experience for this product, and that is the APP. APP is required to start using this speaker. Something that should have been seamless and easy became quickly frustrating during the first pairing and start up. I had to close and restart the app, and even had to “Reset” the speaker to diagnose the issue. After, multiple tries it eventually found the speaker to be added to the app. Then, once added it would dissapear…this happened a few times before it eventually became stable. The app definitely needs a lot of help as it feels like its still under development, and is limited on what can be done once speaker is added. The other function that i feel would be a nice addition is the ability to use the LED vertical bar on the speaker to be more interactive. It turns on initially but turns off eventually. While adjusting the volume, it shows gradual increase. It would be a nice adidtion if the LED Bar can be used as some sort of a meter, like interact with music. All in all, this is a good balances sounding speaker that requires the app to be improved.

Nice looking unit but
This is a really cool looking Device, however, we had extreme difficulty in getting it to work as designed, and the instructions weren’t really clear, reason I gave a 3 star rating.

Some Distortion, No Alexa Setup
I recently ordered the wireless home speaker to use in our home. We have some devices throughout the home but wanted one for the kitchen area. I am not a technical person so this will not be a technical review. These are my observations as someone who has listened to a lot of music on lots of devices over the years. There are no instructions included except to download the app. The app (VSSL) walks you through setting it up. You have to have the app to use it. You can’t just pair it to your device.Downloaded the app with no issue. I attached to the home network. I named the speaker. It will ask if you want to attach it to Google or other devices. We are having difficulty figuring out how to get it to work with our main Alexa device via their app and Alexa’s. We had to search Youtube for this info but are still having issues. The bass goes up to level 10 but there’s not a lot of difference between the levels. I noticed 3 subtle difference at 5, 8 and 10. The volume does go loud. From my Samsung S8+ tablet, I played music from Spotify and tinkered with the levels.Bass Nectar’s “Hexes” has a lot of deep bass in it and sounded a bit distorted.Robert Plant’s “Big Log” was perfect.ACDC’s “Thunderstruck” was perfectOcean and Thunderstorm Sounds was distorted.Podcast speaking sounded clear. At $350 (at time of review), this is way too expensive for the sound inconsistencies. We have a JVC boom box that cost much less, doesn’t require an app and sounds much better.
