Solid Basic Wi-Fi 6 Router, but Lacks Advanced Security and Looks Ugly
If you’re simply looking for a no-frills Wi-Fi 6 router to get solid coverage around the house, this WAVLINK AX6000 does the job. In day-to-day use it delivers the baseline speed performance and range you’d expect from a modern dual-band router, and the setup is straightforward enough whether you use the browser interface. You don’t need the app. For general streaming, browsing, and getting multiple devices online, it works as advertised. With all those antennas I would think it would have 6Ghz too. How many antenna would this thing have if they included 6Ghz!!Where it falls short is in the features people might expect if they assume it’s a top-tier product. There’s no intrusion prevention system or deeper security tooling beyond the usual WPA2/WPA3 options and VPN, and no real advanced network controls that high-end routers offer. If you’re looking for serious security or enterprise-level features, this isn’t it. There are previous models where security issues were not fixed with updated firmware, so for longevity the jury is out on how many years this will be usable if they’re don’t extend security patching.A personal annoyance is the ugly (to me) appearance. The cluster of antennas makes it look messy and out of place, especially if you keep your networking gear in a visible spot. Functionally I guess they’re fine, but I have Ubiquiti and Meraki APs with better performance that don’t look ugly or need external. Overall, this is a competent, basic Wi-Fi 6 router that will work for general home use in a medium house, but it doesn’t offer the higher-end features or cleaner design that some buyers might expect. At this price I don’t think it’s worth complaining about.

Good Extender For Home Coverage
I have a Comcast modem/router in my home but the coverage isn’t the best. Luckily, you can use this as a network extender. I ran an ethernet cable from my cable modem up through the wall to the upstairs and plugged into this router in the WAN port. The app lets you switch the router to an extender so you can pump fresh wifi through a second area of your home. You don’t have to use the app – you can log directly into the router, but the app allows you to check on it and run various other utilities. The cluster of antennae give a bunch of coverage with several devices being able to get a clear an open connection simultaneously. This is good in our household which has security cameras, various phones, laptops, gaming systems, etc, all over the house. May favorite feature though is the USB 3.0 port that allows you to hook up an external hard drive and use it as a media server across the network, sharing movies and music with all users. This alone makes it worth the purchase price for me.

A great router and has vastly improved my home WIFI!
After receiving and unboxing this router from Wavelink I will say it has definitely helped our WIFI signal in the house. I used both the app, and the web interface to setup the router twice for the purpose of this review, and to examine its various functions. I will say it has all the functions and more than most people will ever use! From IPv6 to integrating your VPN service via a configuration file, to setting up your own DNS servers, this unit does it all. I have not had the first issue with the unit trying it both as my main router using it with TMobile home internet, and as a repeater boosting the WIFI 6 signal from the TMobile router. Speeds are fast and consistent with gaming, streaming, uploads, and downloads. It has most definitely made my internet connection much better and more stable than using the provided equipment from TMobile directly. Also has a guest network and all of the functionality you would expect from a modern router. I also tried it with a Ethernet cable, and it worked very well. No, it’s not the newest WIFI7, or has the newest fastest chipset, but for most people and larger households with multiple connections I think it is beyond good enough. Cosmetically the unit is very sleek, the eight antennas can be adjusted and the routers lights can be disabled which is also a huge plus. I cannot at this point say anything negative about this awesome router. If you need a fast stable connection without breaking the bank you could not really do better from a respectable name brand. Setup is fairly straightforward even if your not tech savvy. Read the book and follow the directions and you should be fine. I look forward to its continued usage for a while to come A+

Made it my primary Wi-fi access point and I couldn’t be more pleased.
I have a my own cable modem that has Wi-Fi built in but the Wi-Fi location is terrible. I have hard wire run all over my house, and I use this device in my living room. The instructions were very clear and I was able to set it up in no time. You basically connect to the new Wi-Fi network, open a browser and use the address included in the instructions. I got another WAVLINK device designed for outdoor use and was able to set up the mesh network feature to cover my entire yard without any hassles. Unlike the outdoor one, this one had the antennas already installed. Just unfold and it’s ready to go. We have new iOS devices or newer Android, you will need to set the Wi-Fi type to WPA3, but that is a simple dropdown. I have no issue with the speed, and my so who games did not complain when I changed out the old one and replaced it with this one, so that is a win. I couldn’t be more pleased with the set up, coverage, functionally, and features of this device.

Fast Stable Router With Strong Coverage
This router performs very well. Speeds are fast and stable and the coverage easily reaches across the house without dropouts. It handles a mix of devices with no problem including phones tablets smart TVs gaming systems and PCs. Setup is simple through the app and the interface is easy to manage. The multiple antennas push a strong signal through walls and the WiFi 6 support keeps everything running smoothly even with several devices connected at the same time. Build quality is good for the price and overall value is excellent for a router that performs this well.
