How to Install
Step 1
Insert the power cord into the cable sleeve ,Strip the outside layer of the power cord, length 21~22mm.Strip the inside layer of the power cord, length 8~9mm.
Step 2
Insert the wire into the corresponding hole under the screw,black wire under the brass-colored screw, white wire under the brass-colored screw, green wire under Green-colored screw .Tighten the screws clockwise
Step 3
Install the strain-relief clamp (white plastic piece) over the outer cable exterior to help prevent a pulling force from pulling the wires out from the screws. Tighten the two screws clockwise.
Step 4
Install the rear cover and tighten up the screws to finish the installation.There is an rubber seal around it to making the GFCI water resistant.

How to Test
To test if the GFCI works normally for electric leakage, please follow the steps below:
a) Plug the GFCI plug into a regular outlet.
b) Press the RESET button and check if the indicator light is ON.
c) Press the TEST button and check if the indicator light is OFF.
d) Press the RESET button and if the indicator light is ON, then start to use it.
If the GFCI passes the test, then the GFCI is working to protect you. If the GFCI don’t trip after pressed the TEST button, Please do not use the GFCI .When the GFCI keeps
tripping after power is restored, there might be a risk of electric leakage for your electrical device, and the GFCI plug will shut down the power immediately and protect people from possible electric shock hazards.

Works well. Replaced the plug on a hair dryer. It’s a little bulkier than the original but saves me from buying a new one. It was an expensive hair dryer so I’m glad I can get more use out info it.

Works well, but…
Works as expected, except that every time I plug it in, I have to push the “reset” button on it. Why?? I don’t care for how huge the whole thing is either- much bigger than any pre-installed plug and covers up the entire outlet. But it was easy to install and it works, so I’m keeping it. Just wish they made them smaller.

Fixed a broken bathroom heater
The wall-mounted heater in our master bathroom lasted a few years until the pull-string broke. The string was just a flimsy little thing made of nylon or similar, much thinner than a shoelace. Upon opening the unit, I found that I can’t replace the string without massive disassembly of the heater.So I cut the plug off the power cord and replaced it with this switchable GFCI plug. Works great. The GFCI provides protection in this moist environment, and I simply use the On and Off buttons to operate the wall-mounted heater. It beats buying a whole new wall-mount heater, or spending 2 hours picking the switch mechanism apart.

I got this to replace the dead GFI on my pressure washer which was temporarily replaced with a standard plug. Install is easy, with the three wires just screwing onto the terminals in the plug before it’s closed up. Test function trips the protection as expected and the washer runs normally. Thumbs up.

If you are a contractor, just buy a new cord and or plug into a GFCI powerbar or extension cord add-on. Homeowners and DIY fixers can chop off old cord ends and replace them. Use at your own risk, but this male plug replacement will be safer than using that old mangled extension cord from Dad’s shed–especially if you are near water or may encounter wet.The switch operates as expected and will disconnect when a short to ground is detected.If you are using this in a high risk environment, test your equipment regularly. A plug tester with a GFCI trip button can verify that you have installed the correct polarity and that the GFCI function is working properly when you push the button to trip the circuit. That’s how I checked mine.This plug comes with multiple gaskets to fit a variety of wire guages, but the plug being 15 amps means your wire should be 14 guage or higher (12 guage).

This is a well made GFCI replacement plug. The auto monitoring feature is a great modern safety function, and the unit itself feels solid and reliable.However, it has one major limitation. It is a 2 prong plug, meaning it does not have a ground connection. The product listing is confusing because it says ‘grounded’ in the title, which is not accurate for a two prong device.This lack of a ground pin means you absolutely cannot use it to replace a 3 prong plug on equipment that requires grounding for safety, such as many pressure washers and pumps. This severely restricts its use cases.It is a shame because the device itself is high quality. But its application is strictly limited to only non grounded, two wire tools, which makes it unsuitable for much of the equipment it might be considered for.
