Perfect for what we need
Why did you pick this product vs others?:the reviews that I read all said it was the best in my price range for home securitySecurity:I like that the key overrides the combination. I had read that there are ways to defeat the combinationlock with a magnet but if that is true, the key will prevent that.Design:In spite of some reviews, my safe came p[ackaged secury with no dents or scratches. It was heavy to put in position,but the quality and ease of use is impressive.Value for money:I had a cheaper safe and thought it was secure. After my home was broken into I found out how easy it was to use a crowbar ( which the thieves found in my garage) and pry the side with the bolts out and the door [popped open. Unless I am missing something here, this is not going to happen with this safe.Works well:Simple to understand programming the combination.Thickness:As I said, this thing is heavy and if you hit it on the side, it sounds solid. I don’t usually write reviews but in this case I wanted others to know what a great product this is.I am very happy with this purchase and recommend this safe very highly. No negatives to report.

Well built and heavy
Early review (Day 2): Arrived quickly and without any damage. Was alarmed at first when I entered the factory code and nothing happened. Maybe I missed that the batteries were not installed (or supplied), but I quickly figured it out. Once I did that, it worked *almost* perfectly.* I hate beeps, so my first modification attempt was to mute the speaker. It didn’t work. Turns out the manual is wrong: to mute the beeps, Press 0,P,1; to opt for persistent intrusions into your quiet Zen, no worries – that is the default, unfortunately. But if you really want them, press 0,P,2.Back to the review. Great safe. The lockable internal box is next to useless, but the LED illumination is great. The weight of the safe is reassuring, though if you really want to prevent thieves from carting your safe off to their criminal den, you have to screw it down to the floor, which unfortunately voids the water intrusion warranty. No big deal for me, as I bought this safe to ensure that our valuables are protected when our apartment is shown to strangers. Anyone viewing the property will be with a realtor, and it isn’t possible to stow this safe in your pocket without the realtor seeing it, unlike jewelry, cash, and memory cards. So it does exactly what I want it to do.Five stars.

Solid and Sturdy Fireproof Safe
I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this safe for the price we paid. We aren’t trying to ward off sophisticated thieves trying to get at our gold bars or anything like that, our main concern is having something that’s fire / water resistant to put passports and birth certificates etc. into. For that purpose, this safe is perfect.Setup was a breeze, though we opted against trying to bolt it into place. I didn’t read the description carefully before purchasing and haven’t had a safe like this before so below are a couple things that surprised me that others might find helpful: 1) There is a master safe code included in your manual that cannot be deleted and will always work to unlock your safe, though you can add additional codes that will be easier for you to remember. 2) Two keys are included, which I was aware of. However, I thought the keys were backups to use in case the keypad for whatever reason wasn’t working or you forgot your code. That’s not the case, the key can instead be used as a secondary safety mechanism. If you turn the key to the “locked” position, you’ll need both the key and your code to get into the safe. 3) The batteries for the keypad are removed from the front of the safe. For some reason I though for security purposes it would need to be inside of the safe, however it does make a lot more sense to have it outside so it’s easy to change out when it dies.Sorry for anyone that’s had a safe before these are probably no-brainers, but I’m a newbie to the safe world. Overall I’d say this is a very well made safe that seems very solid and tamper resistant. I’ve been pleased with our purchase and would highly recommend it to others.

Item took a month to arrive but I knew that when I ordered it. Item came well packaged and as a result i found no flaws or defects as some have reported. Safe ws easy to configure to configure to my own codes, ?This was a replacemnt to a smaller sentry safe. Very pleased with nthis purchase.
