Beauty and security in one.
It’s my second raid but with an easy setup I now have more storage and use my other as a backup. It’s quiet and works well. Very pleased and love the color. I’ll update to ssd drives at some point for added speed.

I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner! This is by far one of my most favorite investments. Though I’m an IT guy and it took me a short while to figure everything out, it was definitely fun to incorporate into my home network. Just get it. It’s a great addition.

Works okay for file storage. I also use it with the included surveillance camera app. Unfortunately, the app re-sizes the video size coming from the cameras when rebooted. I hate that. I have to go back into each camera individually and zoom them back out by changing the pixel size back to default.

Fan failed out of the box. As I was setting it up, it beeped incessantly and I couldn’t stop it or figure out that the fan had failed until it was done setting up.That being said – set up UI was super easy. It gets two stars. One for having great Ui, but terrible for being broken on delivery.

Packed Terrible
Synology didn’t pack the package very good. HDD’s only take a few pounds of pressure to damage them. When I received this item, the drives were loose in the enclosure. They drives had snapped off their brackets because they use plastic locking mechanisms. I strongly suggest not using those locking tabs and instead use the screws that come with it. Synology, if you are shipping drives with these units, you need to pack the display box with the item using at lease 3 inchs of packing material on all sides. Luckily the drives were not damaged and I used screws to replace the plastic locking tabs.Besides that, this is a great device as far as features go for an NAS, but I recommend not getting the NAS with drives included. I have seen this too many times now to know that they don’t really thinking about the packing situation when its shipped with drives included.

J’ai acheté ce petit serveur NAS pour sauvegarder des fichiers pro et personnels. Jusqu’à présent, j’ai toujours utilisé des disques durs externes pour cette tâche et je me disais qu’un Nas c’était trop compliqué à installer, à configurer… Sur les conseils d’un ami, j’ai acheté ce boîtier et je dois dire que je ne suis pas déçu. L’installation du disque dur (un Seagate Ironwolf acheté séparément) était vraiment très facile: on ouvre le panneau frontal clipsé, on sort un tiroir, on retire deux petits clips que l’on replace juste ensuite pour tenir le disque dur, on réinsére le tiroir et c’est fini. Une fois branché sur sa box, on se connecte au NAS via une adresse web ou un QR code pour mobile et il n’y a qu’à suivre les instructions d’installation. En quelques minutes, on peut profiter de son cloud privé. C’est vraiment très accessible pour tout le monde. Sinon rien à redire sur le fonctionnement. Pour ma part, je pense qu’il est très silencieux. Le ventilateur se met en route très occasionnellement comme sur n’importe quel ordinateur mais la plupart du temps on ne l’entend pas du tout. La suite logicielle est un peu moins intuitive que l’installation, il faut se familiariser mais rien de très compliqué non plus. A noter qu’il y a déjà un petit câble réseau fourni dans la boîte (1m environ), personne ne le mentionne, j’en avais acheté un supplémentaire inutilement. Le boîtier est compact, élégant et léger. Je recommanderais ce NAS aux néophytes sans hésiter.

Bien para un novato en el tema. Hay muchas reseñas de expertos en comunicaciones y redes, así que no me voy a liar. Sí puedo decir que da lo que promete, y como digo para un usuario que no quiere complicarse la vida y tiene conocimientos muy básicos a este nivel, muy bien. Si yo pude instalarlo sin grandes complicaciones, cualquiera puede.

nothing works here, the information on the web site is useless. When I try to log in, the default username and password are not accepted. On further investigation I find disks with something already on them. This is unusable hardware for enormous amounts of money!

Ottimo acquisto, le smart-tv si connettono tramite il router in WiFi senza nessun problema e dà la possibilità di vedere i filmati archiviati, le foto, la musica etc. Da remoto, velocità di connessione permettendo, è molto dinamico. Ottimo acquisto!
